How to Make Your Own Paracress Extract at Home?

Paracress (Acmella oleracea), also known as Buzz Buttons – is not only fun in cocktails but also powerful in skincare. With its natural Spilanthol, you can create your own extract for creams, serums, or tinctures. Here’s how:

What You’ll Need

  • 10–15 dried Paracress flowers

  • 100 ml carrier oil (e.g., olive, jojoba, or almond oil)

  • A clean glass jar with lid

Instructions

  1. Prepare
Place the dried flowers into your jar. Lightly crush them to release the active compounds.

  2. Infuse
Pour the oil over the flowers until fully covered. Seal the jar tightly.

  3. Wait
Store in a warm, dark place for 2–3 weeks. Shake gently every few days.

  4. Strain
After infusion, strain out the flowers using a fine sieve or cheesecloth.

  5. Use
Your extract is ready! Apply a few drops into your DIY creams, serums, or massage oil.

Tip: The longer you infuse, the stronger the tingling effect. Always patch test before use on skin.
